Meet Signe, our new Manager in the Social & Economic Impacts team in Copenhagen.
What do you work with?
I work with a great range of projects.
To summarise; I work with sustainable change and development in the public sector. Primarily in the municipalities all around Denmark. I am a local government expert and have my primary skills within organisational development and implementation.
I work closely with great colleagues who are experts within different areas in the public sector.
As example, it can be:
- projects with focus on analysing and developing new practices for education for children with special needs
- analysing the administrative organisation
- tasks about evaluation of local administrative practice for environment authority or organisations
- management of social services.
What made you want to join Ramboll Management Consulting?
Ramboll’s values and approach to scoping and problem solving were very important in my wish to become a part of Ramboll Management Consulting.
As a management consultant it is crucial for me to be very ethical in the way we work. And to my experience this is a profound part of the culture here. The broad definition and understanding of sustainable change are also important, because that these are some of the main drivers for me in my work.
What is the most significant professional experience you have had so far?
There has been a great range of professional experiences, but I think the most significant has been the period when I was head of the reform secretariat in a municipality. At this time, we were preparing the reform of the Danish municipalities and we moved some public sector operations from counties to municipalities.
Merging two municipalities and being privileged to work very closely with the executive management and the politicians preparing this huge reform, has been one of the most interesting, educative and challenging experiences I have had.
What are the most exciting developments within your field of work?
It is very interesting what is happening around management and organisational development these years.
I am especially inspired by Frederic Laloux’s Reinventing Organizations and the thoughts and experiences from the Dutch organization Buurtzorg. We see some organizations in Denmark that have started to work with some of the same thoughts and it is really exciting to follow how it can contribute to higher efficiency, quality and job satisfaction.

How do you define the higher purpose of what you do?
I always strive to help the client in a sustainable way. To me, this means that when we are no longer working on a task together, the organisations capacity has developed. This is an important purpose to me, combined with the overall purpose of contributing to an efficient public sector, ,追求更好, more powerful and efficient services.
What is your best source of inspiration?
I get inspired by a lot of different things, depending on mood and tasks. It could be my father, who is a great inspiration to keep the ethical perspective and think about the best of our fellow human beings. It could be my very first CEO. He was an excellent leader with an inspiring curiosity, very skilled and with a lot of courage. And it could be mother nature – here I find my space for thinking and getting things right in my mind.
在我的桌子我总是...?
My computer and a notebook. I have an ambition of not printing and carrying to much paper around. But it helps me in my work to write down things and ideas by hand and draw sketches of figures.
If I had the skills, I would love to be...
A mountaineer. Then I would climb beautiful mountains around the world. I love hiking and being in the wonders of nature. I have a great wish to climb Kilimanjaro because it should be the most magic adventure, and still possible without being a real mountaineer.
